Niagara Regional Police say they have made an arrest after a shooting at the Niagara Gateway Information Centre in Grimsby that happened on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

One male victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation by 8 District’s Criminal Investigative Bureau, a suspect was identified and arrested the next day.

Police report Ferdinando PIO, 33, of Thorold is charged with aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm with intent.

PIO remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
