Niagara Regional Police say they are looking to the public for information after a car fire in St. Catharines in the area of Cayuga Street.

On Monday, December 29, 2025, at approximately 9:25 pm, Niagara Regional Police Service responded to reports of a vehicle fire.

The vehicle was parked and unoccupied in the driveway of a residence at the time of the fire. The fire was subsequently extinguished by St Catharines Fire Services. An investigation in the cause of the fire revealed that the vehicle had been intentionally set ablaze with gasoline by an unidentified suspect.

Detectives are appealing to the public for any video surveillance footage in the area at the time of the incident. Residents and businesses in the area of Cayuga Street are asked to review their video surveillance footage between 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm on Monday December 29 and contact police if any suspicious parties are observed.
