In the late fall of 2016 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into the sale of drugs from a residence on Fielden Avenue in Port Colborne Ontario which was was located across the street from a local high school and a block away from a public school.

 

According to police, on December 1, 2016 members of the Welland and St. Catharines Street Crime Units executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at the residence.  As a result of the execution of the search warrant police seized approximately $4,800.00 in suspected heroin, $1,000.00 in suspected crystal methamphetamine, $1,000.00 in marihuana, a small amount of prescription medication, over $700.00 in Canadian currency, and approximately $4000.00 in stolen property.

Scott Emburgh, a 37 year old resident of Port Colborne, Ontario has been arrested and is charged with 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Emburgh is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 2, 2016 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
