According to police, on Sunday November 9, 2014 members of the Welland Uniform Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for Highway Traffice Act violations.

Police investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for obstruct Police. Further investigation lead to the seizure of a quantity of controlled substances including an assortment of morphine pills valued at $1,650, .2 grams of cyrstal meth valued at $40 and $450 in Canadian currency.

Charles LARO, a 51 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with 5 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Obstruction and Fail to Comply with Probation. LARO is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday November 10, 2014 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
