Sunday February 15th 2015 at approximately 6:47 pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended an apartment complex located at Academy Street and St. Paul Street, in the city of St. Catharines in response to a break and enter that just occurred. Upon arrival, police discovered two male victims, one suffering serious lacerations to his head and ear. He was transported to the St. Catharines hospital by ambulance and the second victim was not injured.

Police learned that two male suspects entered the apartment armed with weapons, including a handgun and assaulted one of the victims while searching the residence for property. The two suspects fled the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Investigation by the 1 District Detective Office with the assistance of uniform officers from St. Catharines and Welland eventually led to one of the suspects being identified and arrested.

According to police, charged with one count of Break and Enter to Commit, one count of Robbery and one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm is 21 year old Nicholas Milojevich of Niagara Falls.

Investigators have executed two search warrants and have found property in relation to this incident. The victim was later released from the hospital.

The second suspect is still outstanding at this time and police are seeking the assistance from the public to help identify him. Anyone with information regarding this investigations is urged to call the 1 District Detective Office at 905-688-4111, ext 4244.

Police say investigators have identified the second male suspect as 21 year old Mackenzie Watson of St. Catharines. An arrest warrant is being sought for his involvement in this incident. The investigation has also shown that this was not a random act of violence but the victims were targeted by the suspects.
