The Welland Recreational Canal Corporation is excited to announce it has received direction from the City to launch the Welland Canoe Rental Program this May long weekend. It will be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10 am till dusk – make a splash this weekend!
Individuals of all ages are encouraged to have a paddle in a tandem kayak, pedal boat, kayak, canoe or even the growing trend of stand up paddleboarding (SUP) at the PenFinancial Credit Union Flatwater Community Centre. As a part of community programming, there will continue to be free rentals to all youth 16 years of age and younger.
This community program offers a chance to take advantage of gorgeous weather, take in the scenic landscapes, or plan an outdoor adventure on the Recreational Waterway; discover this beautiful gem that pulses throughout the quaint City of Welland.
The Welland Canoe Rental Program caters to individuals looking to spend the day under the sun or to the larger groups that are looking for an exciting family outing, birthday party, social event or a unique team building venture.
With more than 4,000 renters last season, find out why everyone made the Welland Canoe Rental Program a MUST on their summer to-do list! With Council’s support of the recommendation, the Welland Canoe Rental Program will be open weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 10 am till dusk in May and June. During the months of July and August, hours of operation will be seven days a week, 10 am – dusk. The Program will continue weekend operation in September.
