Police say on Thursday, August 25th, 2015, at approximately 3:45 PM, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, Grimsby Fire Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service were dispatched for a motorcycle that had left the roadway at Main Street West and Oakes Road in the Town of Grimsby, in the Region of Niagara.

 

Initial investigation revealed that 69-year-old Enzo ZONA of Hamilton was riding his 1985 Honda motorcycle west bound on Main Street West when he lost control of his motorcycle and left the north side of the travelled portion of the roadway. Mr. ZONA was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a private driveway near this intersection. Neighbors contacted 911 as other drivers stopped to assist. Emergency Services personnel arrived on scene and Mr. ZONA was transported to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital where he succumb to his injures and he was pronounced dead.

This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office, Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit.
