Police say, on Thursday April 21, 2016 a male attended One District, St.Catharines to report that while attending the address of an acquaintance in the City of St.Catharines, he was confronted by a male within the residence who pointed a handgun at him.

 

This matter was assigned to Detectives with the One District Detective Office for further investigation. On Tuesday May 3, 2016 as a result of further investigation, Investigators were granted judicial authorization to enter and search a St.Catharines residence for evidence in relation to this offence.  During the execution of the search warrant, Investigators located and seized six (6) imitation firearms as well as three (3) pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $13,600.

The following individuals face charges in relation to this investigation:

Denis Luby (23 years of age) of St.Catharines is charged with the following offences:

– Pointing a Firearm

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule II Substance
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Failing to Comply with Probation Order (2 Counts)

Dennis Haggerty (44 years of age) of St.Catharines is charged with the following offences:

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule II Substance
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Michelle Laquerre (49 years of age) of St.Catharines is charged with the following offences:

– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule II Substance
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Luby will be appearing for a Bail Hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in The City of St.Catharines on Wednesday May 4, 2016.

Haggerty and Laquerre were released from custody with future court dates in relation to their charges.
