In April and May of 2016 members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit conducted an investigation in to the sale of cocaine. This investigation was in to a male who was conducting these drug sales from a vehicle throughout the City of St. Catharines.  This was the second time in six months that Police have conducted a drug investigation into this individual.

 

Police say, on Monday, May 16, 2016 members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit arrested this male while he was the occupant of a vehicle with a female. On this male was found a quantity of currency and in the vehicle was found suspected crack cocaine. Three controlled drugs and substances act search warrants were then executed at residences linked to this male and further currency and evidence of drug sales was seized.

Garfield SWABY, a 42 year old resident of St. Catharines who is currently on bail as a result of prior drug investigations in to him in 2015, was arrested and is facing charges of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and three counts of Failing to Comply with Recognizance.

Krista WILSON, a 31 year old resident of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

Junior ALLEN, a 47 year old resident of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

Police seized over $19,000 in currency believed to be the proceeds of the sale of drugs and a quantity of crack cocaine and marijuana.

SWABY was held in custody pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines, Ontario on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. WILSON and ALLEN were released on Promises to Appear / Undertaking on May 16, 2016.
