Police say, on Monday June 6th, 2016, members assigned to the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E) Unit engaged in a joint Investigation initiated by members of the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) assigned to the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.

 

As a result of the joint investigation, a 23 year old male, Khandeem MAYERS of Brooklyn, New York, United States of America, has been arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography, and Importing Child Pornography contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

MAYERS had been held in custody, pending a Bail Hearing scheduled at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services. This Project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
