In November, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Guns, Gangs, and Grows Unit began an investigation into an illegal marijuana grow operation on Marsdale Drive in St. Catharines.

 

As a result, on November 16th police say a search warrant was granted to enter and search the Marsdale Drive residence and at approximately 6:45 pm the warrant was executed and the accused was arrested.

Police located a large marijuana grow operation resulting in the seizure of 1237 plants in various stages of growth. Police also located and seized 3 1/2 pounds of dried processed marijuana. Total street value is approximately 1.25 million dollars.

Charged with Unlawful Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance is 64-year-old Armand Delorme of St. Catharines. Delorme was subsequently released from custody and will return to court in December to answer to these charges.
