At approximately 10:42 p.m. on Friday, February 24th, 2017 the Niagara Falls Fire Service, along with the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to reports of a two vehicle collision on Taylor Road at Mountain Road in the City of Niagara Falls, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.

 

Police say that initial investigation revealed that a westbound Honda, being operated by a male and carrying four female passengers, was attempting to make a left turn onto Taylor Road.  At the same time a northbound Chevrolet came into collision with the Honda within the intersection.

All five occupants of the Honda were transported to hospital with varying degrees of injuries.  Two occupants were treated and released, another two occupants suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital in serious but stable condition and the fifth occupant was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and later succumbed to her injuries.

Names of the involved parties are not being released at this time.

The on scene investigations lead to the arrest of the female driver of the Chevrolet for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.  32-year-old Kimberly SERVOS of Thorold, Ontario was held for bail on 1 count of “Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Death”, 2 counts of “Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm”, 1 count of “Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol in Excess of 80 and Causing Death” and 1 count of “Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol in Excess of 80 and Causing Bodily Harm”.

This incident remains under investigation by Detectives of the Collision Reconstruction Unit.  Any witnesses with information regarding this collision are asked to contact Investigators at (905) 688-4111, extension 5500.
