On Monday April 24 around 3:40 a.m.  police say that members of the Niagara Regional Police Service as well as the St Catharines Fire Department responded to 385 St. Paul Street in regards to an active fire.

 

This location is a business establishment known as the Bistrobar Cafe. The second floor of the building contained tenants who needed to be evacuated by the St Catharines Fire Department and no injuries to any person were suffered as a result of the fire.

An investigation commenced to determine the cause of the fire where the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal and the St Catharines Fire Department are assisting the Niagara Regional Police Service. At this time the cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any further information is encouraged to contact the 1 District Detective Office or Detective Constable Jukosky #8422.
