Police say that yesterday at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Port Colborne Fire Services responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in a private driveway off of Sugarloaf Street in the City of Port Colborne, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.

 

Initial investigation revealed that friends and family were having a get together when a 2015 Toyota Camry was being backed up to the garage area of this home when the 64-year-old female driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle struck another 64-year-old female that was in the garage.

The female who was struck suffered life threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by ambulance. She later succumbed to her injuries. The 64 year-old female driver did not suffer any physical injuries from this collision.

The name of the deceased and the address is not being released at this time out of respect for the family.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Coroner’s Office.
