Police say that on  Sunday, November 12th, about 2:15 a.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Falls Fire Services responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Biggar Road west of Montrose Road in the City of Niagara Falls, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Ontario.

 

Initial investigation revealed that a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was being driven west bound on Biggar Road by 22-year-old Jake Pirson of Welland, with three passengers. Pirson lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a number of smaller trees before the vehicle came to final rest on its roof in the ditch on the north side of Biggar Road.Pirson suffered minor injuries while a 20-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased female is not being released at this time out of respect for the family.

Pirson and two other passengers suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Pirson will be dealt with in bail court on Monday morning and has been charged with the Criminal Code offence of Impaired Driving Cause Death.

This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
