Police are still looking for more information as they investigate an early Friday evening crash in St. Catharines that claimed the life of a young man.
On August 10th the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, Niagara Regional Police Service and St Catharines Fire Services were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Bunting Road near Dieppe Road in St Catharines.
Initial investigation revealed that a 29-year-old male resident of St.Catharines was riding a 2004 Yamaha R6 motorcycle northbound on Bunting Road at a high rate of speed. At the same time a 27-year-old female from St.Catharines exited a parking lot onto Bunting Road in a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The motorcycle came into collision with the Toyota causing the rider to be thrown to the ground.
The rider of the Yamaha motorcycle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene. The 27-year-old driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries.
This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Collision Reconstruction Unit.
