The City of St. Catharines is putting S’No Parking into effect so crews can remove snow from neighbourhood streets.

The City urges residents to not park on the road so it can plow streets as quickly and efficiently as possible. S’No Parking is in effect from now until Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.

There are no fines associated with S’No Parking. However, parking tickets may be issued in some cases under the City’s Parking By-law:
• Parking is prohibited at downtown on-street metered spaces from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. Violators may receive a $30 ticket or be towed.
• Parking on Regional roads is prohibited from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Violators may receive a $30 ticket or be towed.
• Parking is restricted to 12 hours on any street where parking is permitted. Vehicles parked on the road for more than 12 hours may receive a $30 ticket or be towed.

Report slippery or dangerous road conditions to 905.688.5600.

City Hall, City community centres, including the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, arenas, older adult centres and the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, are open as usual. City aquatic and recreation programs are running as scheduled. Any cancellations will be posted online at, on the City’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and on Pingstreet, the City’s free smart phone app.
