During the morning hours of October 26th, 2016, uniform patrol Officers attended the area of Dunlop and Dunkirk Road in the city of St.Catharines. This was in response to a series of break and enters that had recently occurred.

 

These incidents were assigned to the 1 District Street Crime Unit for further investigation and during the course of the investigation, police say that detectives identified the accused, Richard Alligood, as being responsible for 6 commercial break and enters.  On Wednesday, January 18th, 2017, members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit located and arrested Richard Alligood without incident.

Richard Alligood was subsequently charged with: 6 counts of break and enter into a non-dwelling, possession of a schedule II substance, failing to comply with his recognizance, breach of probation, possession of prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon contrary to a weapons prohibition.

Richard Alligood was subsequently held in custody pending a bail hearing.
