On February 6th, Police attended a residence on Four Mile Creek Road in the Town of Niagara on the lake, for a welfare check.  Uniform Officers commenced initial investigations and Police say it led Police to arresting a male for being in possession of two firearms; a restricted handgun and a rifle. Officers also seized several rounds of ammunition, a prohibited rifle magazine and an illegal crossbow.

Further investigations by the 2 District Detective Office and the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (P.W.E.U.) resulted in seeking judicial authorization to further enter and search the residence.  As a result, another prohibited handgun was located in a bin of stuffed animals and a loaded 9mm magazine in a box of cookies.
