On February 9, 2015 at approximately 10:15pm,  the Niagara Regional Police Service was called to an address in the area of Pine Street South and Albert Street West in Thorold.

Police say a woman who resided in the area had an argument with her neighbours and was causing a disturbance. As officers arrived on-scene the woman broke a window of a house. She began to walk towards the officers threatening them with an axe.

A conducted energy weapon was deployed and the woman was arrested.  Alcohol was a factor in this incident. The woman received minor injuries from the broken glass.

48 year old Arlene Labrador of Thorold is charged with: 1 Count of Assault with a Weapon and 3 Counts of Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon.  Labrador will appear at a bail hearing on February 10, 2015 at the St. Catharines court house located at 59 Church Street.
