On Saturday March 5, 2016 at approximately 7:00pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a report of males driving around the City of Niagara Falls with a handgun.  A video of two males holding a loaded handgun was posted onto Facebook and reported to police.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a high risk takedown in the area of Kalar Road and Thorold Stone Road. A loaded handgun along with two rifles were located inside the vehicle.

Fortunately, for all involved, the guns were determined to be replica firearms and no charges were laid. This incident was quickly resolved due to concerned community members reporting the disturbing video to police. Parents who may have purchased airsoft or paintball guns for their kids are encouraged to discuss appropriate behavior when posting to social media.
