Another tragedy in the region last night on the roads. According to police, a driver in the Fort Erie area, rolled his vehicle, was ejected onto the Highway 3 roadway, was run over by another vehicle early Saturday morning and died of his injuries.

 

The man, a 34-year-old Port Colborne resident, was driving westbound on Highway 3, west of Point Abino Road, at about 1:15 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle for “unknown reasons” police said. Then, he was struck by an approaching vehicle.

There were no other injuries reported. Police are notifying family members before releasing the man’s identity. Anyone who may have witnessed the events of the collision can contact the OPP Niagara detachment at 905-356-1311.
