According to  police, in the spring of 2016 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into the sale of controlled substances by a mobile drug dealer who was selling in Port Colborne and Welland, Ontario.  On Thursday April 28, 2016, as a result of this investigation, 3 people were arrested in the parking lot of a business on Main Street East, Port Colborne, Ontario.

 

A Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant was subsequently executed on a West Side Road residence in Port Colborne, Ontario.  Police seized approximately $2,870.00 in suspected cocaine, approximately $400.00 in marihuana and psilocybin, and $4,195.00 in Canadian currency.

Daniel Lelay, a 27 year old resident of Port Colborne, Ontario is charged with 4 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5,000.00, and 3 counts of Breach of a Recognizance.

David Bongers, a 27 year old resident of Port Colborne,Ontario is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime Under $5000.00.

Brandi Reale, a 21 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000.00.

Lelay is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday April 29, 2015 while Bongers and Reale are being released on a Officer in Charge Promise to Appear and given a future court date.
