At 10:05 pm on April 28th, 2016 Daniel Wang was arrested in Hamilton by members of the Hamilton Police Service. Following his arrest, Wang was transported to central custody in Hamilton and later picked up by uniform members from the Niagara Regional Police Service. Wang was then transported to Niagara and held in Central Cells.
Wang was held in custody pending a bail hearing in St. Catharines at the Robert S.K. Welch Court House.
Investigators would like to thank the Hamilton Police Service and the members of the community for assisting in the locating and arrest of Daniel Wang.
Police say on Friday April 8th, 2016 between 2:20 am and 3:20 am a male entered the Myst Lounge and Watermark Restaurant, both located on the 33rd floor of the Hilton Hotel at 6361 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls.
Video surveillance shows an Asian male entering both premises. He then attends behind the bar where he forces open a number of locked liquor cabinets. The suspect then removed several bottles of various brands of liquor from the cabinets. Suspect is described as; Male, Asian, 45-50 yrs., 5’9, 160 lbs., slim build, black hair, and eye glasses with black frames. The male entered with a backpack which he used to transport the items stolen.
Detectives from the Casino Unit took over the investigation and were successful in identifying the Asian male suspect. Picture below:
Charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of failing to comply with probation is 57-year-old Daniel Wang from Hamilton. His whereabouts are unknown, therefore a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
