Police say that members from 5 District Fort Erie Central Investigations Branch entered into an investigation involving a male impersonating a police officer.

Between June 13, 2016 and August 8, 2016, a local Canada Post employee, while on his postal route, was accosted by a male on three different occasions. The male was in search of personal mail and became angry when there was no mail for him.  He then flashed a badge and identified himself as a police officer in an effort to get his mail, despite Canada Post regulations.

On August 8, 2016, the same male attended the Stevensville Post Office in Fort Erie in an attempt to complain about the postal employee.  When lodging the complaint, he identified himself as a police officer and flashed the postal employee a badge. Charged with Personation of a Police Officer X 2 is Vince Danagher, aged 50.

At the time of his arrest, Vince Danagher was operating his vehicle and was impaired. He was also charged with Imparied Driving. Danagher was scheduled for a Bail Hearing on August 16, 2016.

If any member of the public has further information regarding similiar incidents involving Vince Danagher, please contact the 5 Distrcit Central Investigations Branch at 905-871-2300, ext. 2321.
