It looks like the weather will be perfect tonight for the 3rd annual Port Dalhousie Lantern Walk.

 

The Walk is presented by the Port Dalhousie Beautification and Works Committee, a citizen-driven organization dedicated to the beautification, preservation and enhancement of Port Dalhousie. The event drew hundreds of people last year and is promising to be bigger and better than ever this year.

Attendees for this community stroll will receive a candle-lit lantern to light their path around town. They will be provided with a downtown map, showing locations and times of holiday performances as they walk about.  Entertainment will include music from local school choirs, churches, theatre groups and local musicians. Each performance will be approximately 10-15 minutes in length making it a great opportunity to mingle with neighbours and share the joy of the holiday season.

The walk begins at the new pavilion at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie at 6pm.

Also on the go in conjunction with the walk is the second annual Port Dalhousie Christmas Market located on Hogan’s Alley is a great place to do some Christmas shopping while enjoying the tastes, sights, sounds and smells of the Christmas Season!

This year’s market will be held December 15th-17th and include unique products sold from European styled wood cabins, Santa’s photo booth, live entertainment, choirs, Christmas caroling, festive food and beverages, The Alley Bar & Grog House warming lounge, and more.

Admission is free for the event, however organizers are requesting that folks bring a non-perishable food item for Community Care. Bins will be located at the Christmas Market entrance.
