Niagara Regional Police say that they responded along with the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and St.Catharines Fire Services to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle on St. Paul Street West near Seventh Street Louth  yesterday morning at about 5:45 am.

 

Initial investigation showed a 33-year-old Ajax male was on St. Paul Street West when he was struck by a westbound 2017 Dodge Caravan that was being driven by a 32-year-old St.Catharines male. This pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced dead.
The driver of the Dodge did not suffer any physical injuries in this collision.

This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
