Niagara Regional Police say they responded to reports of an armed robbery at a gas station in Thorold yesterday.

 

On August 9, 2021 at approximately 12:30 am., officers responded to Gales Gas Bar located at 157 Collier Road South.

Officers arrived on scene and investigation determined that two males had just entered and robbed the gas station while brandishing a firearm.  The suspects fled the area on foot prior to officer’s arrival with an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets.  No staff members or customers were physically injured during the robbery.

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two suspects.

Suspect 1 is described as:

  • Male
  • White
  • Medium build

Clothing description:

  • Grey baseball cap
  • Grey mask
  • Short sleeve button up shirt with red and blue stripes
  • Grey pants
  • Black and white Adidas running shoes

Suspect 2 is described as being:

  • Male
  • Medium build

Clothing description:

  • Black baseball cap with a red bandana underneath
  • Black bandana covering face
  • Long sleeve white shirt with blue stripes

Anyone who may have closed circuit security cameras (residents or businesses), doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity between the period of 11:30am on August 8, 2021 and 1:00am on August 9, 2021.

Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.  Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
