Niagara Regional Police say they have made an arrest after a cannabis store was robbed in Fort Erie.

On January 13, 2022, at approximately 3:35PM, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a cannabis retail store.

When they arrived on scene at the Village Cannabis Co. store on Ridgeway Road, the initial investigation determined that a male had entered the store and attempted to purchase cannabis with a debit card that would not work.

The male suspect then forced his way behind the counter shoving an employee and attempting to punch another. The suspect ran from the store with a quantity of cannabis.  The employees were not physically injured.

Officers searched the area and located the suspect a short distance away smoking cannabis. The suspect was arrested. A search of the suspect resulted in officers locating and seizing a portion of the stolen cannabis.

Seth Curtis Woelke (22 years) of Fort Erie has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of robbery and failing to comply with a probation order.

Woelke was held in custody and attended a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch courthouse in St. Catharines.
