Today is a great day to get out and enjoy some time with the family for Family Day so here is a list of things open and closed in the Niagara Region.

 

Family Day is observed in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick on the third Monday of February. This holiday celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities.

  • There are over 60 Niagara-region wineries/vineyards and most will be open. Phone your favourite for times.

  • Most restaurants that are usually open on Mondays will be open, but call ahead to be sure
  • Canada Post (mail pick-up and delivery will not be affected by the holiday)

GO Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule
Transit services in St Catharines, Welland and Niagara Falls will operate on holiday hours
Garbage:

No garbage pick-up on Mon., Feb. 21 (all waste collection will be one day later than usual)
Community Recycling Centres will be closed Monday
