Niagara Regional Police say that a weapons incident in Port Colborne has led to charges for a Fort Erie man.

 

In the early morning hours of March 27, 2022, Niagara Regional Police responded to a weapons call at a restaurant/bar in the Town of Port Colborne.

Information was received that a male had attended the location and displayed a firearm after a minor argument.  A fight ensued and the male fled the scene.

Officers on scene did recover a pellet-handgun with two magazines (photo below).

Investigation by theWelland Detective Office has resulted in the identification and arrest of a suspect.

Patrick C. Sassano (23 years old) of Fort Erie has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Carry Concealed Weapon

Sassano was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the Robert S. K. Welch Court House in St. Catharines on March 28, 2022.
