Niagara Regional Police say they are looking for witnesses after an assault that took place in downtown St. Catharines.

On Saturday May 21, 2022, shortly after 1:00 am police responded to a report of an assault in downtown St. Catharines.

Officers arrived on scene at St. Paul Street and William Street and located two men (34 years and 46 years) suffering from nonlife threatening injuries.

The victims were transported to a local hospital. The initial investigation has determined that the victims were assaulted on the street during a large fight.

The 1 District Detective Office is currently investigating the assaults. Detectives are requesting any witnesses or individuals with cell phone footage of the incident come forward to assist in identifying the persons responsible.
