Frost Advisory in effect for:

  • Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region
  • St. Catharines – Grimsby – Northern Niagara Region

Some plants may be damaged or even destroyed by frost.

A high pressure system is affecting Southern Ontario this morning. Clear skies and light winds have resulted in temperatures dropping to near or just below freezing, with frost. The areas near the shorelines of the Lower Great Lakes will have a lesser chance of frost. Temperatures will rise above zero early this morning.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Weather Advisories for Frost are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
