According to police, since January of 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit began conducting a drug investigation involving the sale of Fentanyl in the City of St.Catharines.

 

On February 1st 2016, police observed several suspected drug transactions by this individual while operating a motor vehicle. This male was arrested by members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit in the Niagara Falls area during a suspected drug deal. Police located and seized a large quantity of Fentanyl patches, Oxycodone, Cocaine, Hash, and Canadian and American currency.

Arrested and charged was 42 year old George MYERS of St.Catharines

MYERS has been charged with the following offence;

Trafficking a controlled Substance
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X 4
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000

As a result of this investigation Police seized $20,000 worth of drugs and $18,160 in Canadian Currency and $1300 in American currency.

MYERS was held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 2, 2016.
